University of Rochester Financial Coordinator III in Rochester, New York

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinates all aspects of financial arrangements for Long Term Care admission of patients to LTC nursing facilities. Coordinates claims processing and payment application and/or authorization, including nursing home bills. May require to help as needed in daily pharmacy operations.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Admission of resident information into Pharmacy software program using communication from nursing homes and eRecord, including defining which payee is responsible.

  • Monitor and change payee information as required for residents and nursing homes. Rebill claims as necessary. Submit invoices and statements to residents and nursing homes each month.

  • Receive, post and deposit all payments received from nursing homes and residents.

  • Complete “return to stock” medications accurately and often to maintain time frame requirements.

  • Monitor and rebill pending Medicaid accounts, LICS credits and overdue accounts.

  • Submit information required when receiving desk audits from insurance companies and complete prior authorizations as required.

  • Maintain and order supplies needed for pharmacy operations.

  • Use online programs necessary for pharmacy compliance, i.e.; ePaces, Clozaril, Cardinal Express.

  • Serves as a resource for other staff, using your expertise and experience to guide decision making.

  • Maintains skills in other areas outside their specialty area to allow for staffing flexibility and assigned duties as needed i.e.; data entry, medication technician duties, technician coverage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School education required.

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application - required.

  • 4 years of related hospital credit services; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Three years of experience as a pharmacy technician in related practice area preferred.

  • Computer Literate required.

  • Pharmacy Applications preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the University required.

  • Individual must be able to multi-task, manage many details with accuracy, work under pressure, and maintain professional attitude required.

  • Be of good moral character including application of the ICARE values required.

  • Complete ASHP accredited training program or equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician preferred, or

  • Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (Currently PTCB) and maintain ongoing education requirements preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 19.37 - $ 27.12 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
