Robert Half Staff Accountant in Plymouth, Michigan

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Plymouth, Michigan. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks such as account reconciliations, assisting with bank reconciliations, and other related accounting projects. The successful candidate will be adept at matching, batching, coding, and entering invoices, as well as entering, posting, and reconciling batches.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounts

• Provide information to external auditors during year-end procedures

• Assist with bank reconciliations and other related accounting projects

• Manage the matching, batching, coding, and entering of invoices

• Oversee the entering, posting, and reconciliation of batches

• Research and resolve accounts payable or accounts receivable issues with customers or vendors

• Update and reconcile the sub-ledger to the general ledger

• Maintain cash applications, account reconciliations, and chargebacks

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, External Audit, Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, MS Dynamics AX, Audit Prep, Audit Workpapers, and Draft Audit Reports. Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Understanding and experience with General Ledger

• Ability to prepare accurate Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with External Audit processes

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Proficiency in using MS Dynamics AX

• Experience with Audit Prep, Audit Workpapers and Drafting Audit Reports

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
