JPMorgan Chase Head of Vendor Management for Global Human Resources in New York, New York

As a Product Portfolio Operations Director supporting HR Vendor Management, you are an expert in creating cross-product synergies. As a leader on the team, you leverage your advanced capabilities to innovate on cross product-line coordination, remove barriers to success, and create ways for teams to continuously innovate on solutions-focused products and product features. Our team supports the firm's Human Resources strategy and creates opportunities for efficiencies while providing the oversight necessary to manage HR's multi-billion-dollar portfolio of supplier spend holistically across the dimensions of strategy, cost, performance, relationship, and risk.

The Head of Vendor Management for HR will be part of the HR CFO team accountable to HR CFO with matrix accountability into Senior HR Leadership team, responsible for supporting daily operations of the organization, and contributing to the develop of and execution against the organization's book of work. This position will lead HR vendor initiatives and partner with cross-functional teams to establish foundational best practices and toolsets necessary for each HR Product or Risk and Control team. This will support management their vendor portfolio across the lifecycle of a supplier relationship: technology strategy and research, commercial strategy and transaction execution, and steady state management -supported by several cross line of business foundational initiatives.

Key areas of focus for this role will be the oversight and control of HR vendor spend. This includes contract management, spend management, third party oversight, governance and reporting across all Product Lines. This role will interact closely with key internal partners such as GSS (Third Party Oversight, Sourcing and Pay Operations, Global Technology, Risk and Controls, and Finance F&BM teams. The role will need to stand up a small team for financial operations and reporting, as well as have a matrix org, with responsibility over the Product Line Delivery Managers.

Job responsibilities

  • Partners with Product Delivery Managers, Risk and Controls and Finance to ensure vendor oversight and optimization of the broader HR portfolio.

  • Oversees and coaches a team to best implement the strategy for adapting and executing the full product-line framework and ensures our core cross-product priorities, sequencing, and trade-offs are realized

  • Executes the strategy for reporting and communications to support portfolio management operations and change initiatives

  • Implements portfolio-level tracking of controls, financials, resourcing needs, and key prioritization decisions

  • Supporting the procurement lifecycle across multiple engagements, issue resolution on active engagements from resource onboarding to payments, estimations, accrual support to Finance / Business Managers, ongoing identification of risks and spend reduction opportunities

  • Establishes foundational best practices and toolsets necessary for product lines to manage their vendor portfolio across the lifecycle of a supplier relationship

  • Summarizes "state of the portfolio" for executive stakeholders and vendor account review. Monitors performance, proactive view into potential blockers and adjust approach dynamically.

  • Constantly view new engagements with a trend lends and balance it with the firms risk exposure.

  • Serves as a first line of defense for onboarding/offboarding issues

  • Leads HR's contribution to the firm's corporate social responsibility agenda by influencing supplier diversity, sustainability, and accessibility

  • Identify opportunities, make recommendations and help execute changes for increased efficiencies with vendor spend, for example consolidation, working with preferred vendors who give JPM preferential rates and act as a portfolio manager from a Risk Management perspective on corporate Third Party Oversight tools

  • Create additional standards for critical vendors as well as monitoring them closely to ensure there are no data breaches, headline risks or reputational risks

  • Develop a risk framework for consulting on and advising on risk acceptances

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in program management or performance optimization

  • Proven ability to manage and implement operational effectiveness and portfolio management initiatives

  • Proven ability to operate within the product development life cycle and agile methodologies

  • Experience and interest in the area where Technology and Business intersect

  • Polished written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft polished presentations, articulate key messages to senior management and stakeholders, including contract commercial terms, commitments, and derived value

  • Skilled in Excel, data analysis, and data visualization

  • Experience interacting with and influencing senior decision makers

  • Excellent organizational and delegation skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities

  • Procurement or Vendor Management experience working with suppliers, including negotiations, contract terms and conditions, and performance management

  • Commercial mindset especially relating to software (both on-premise and Software as a Service), hardware, and cloud

  • Proven ability to hire, retain and develop a team from scratch while also maintaining a robust book of work
