As a Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Work with a highly accomplished team on Training Systems and sensor simulations

  • Acquire a deep understanding of the operational system and decompose the performance into relevant Training Simulation requirements, architecture, design, and implementation.

A week in the life of aSystems Engineer:

  • Responsible for highly complex Training Systems and sensor simulations that deliver cutting edge simulation environments for military operators

  • The Training Systems immerse operators through the use of simulations of RADAR, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Weapons, Acoustics, and aerodynamic models to provide mission readiness in immersive environments.

  • Work with a small but distributed team to assess each capability and incorporate the latest visual and sensor simulations.

  • Analyze complex systems and decompose performance requirements into actionable tasks.

  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in simulation technology and systems engineering practices in order to contribute to the ongoing improvement of training system capabilities.

  • Apply knowledge in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) applications in simulation and training systems.

  • Work closely with software developers, instructional designers, hardware engineers, and project managers to ensure the seamless integration of technologies and methodologies in the development of training systems.

  • Leverage systems engineering expertise to conduct thorough requirements analysis, develop system architectures, and design integrated solutions that meet training objectives.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans (including ESOP and 401k), insurance programs, and education and training assistance.

Job Requirements

B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Systems Engineering professional supporting training systems and simulation

  • Demonstrated ability in the design and implementation of complex systems, hardware/software integration

  • Proven experience working within a distributed team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively.

  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance

    Required Expertise and Application of Skills:

  • Systems Engineering: Solid background in systems engineering principles and practices, including system development life cycles, requirements analysis, system architecture and design, and system integration and testing.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and decompose performance requirements into actionable tasks. Strong problem-solving skills to devise and implement effective solutions.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software developers, instructional designers, hardware engineers, and project managers to ensure the seamless integration of technologies and methodologies in the development of training systems.

  • Simulation System Development and Integration: Apply technical proficiency in simulation technologies to design, develop, and integrate advanced training systems.

  • Requirements Analysis and System Design: Leverage systems engineering expertise to conduct thorough requirements analysis, develop system architectures, and design integrated solutions that meet training objectives.
