Robert Half Manufacturing Materials Expeditor in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Manufacturing Materials Expeditor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will manage inventory levels, assess suppliers, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining quality standards. Additionally, handle expedited requests within the purchasing department, keeping Manufacturing and Planning updated on all expedited shipments and attend value stream meetings.

  • Monitor expedite email address and value stream meetings for requested parts.

  • Contact vendors via email or phone to expedite delivery of specific purchase orders (POs).

  • Report results to requesting parties or communication tools.

  • Update all tier communication boards with incoming parts information.

  • Amend dates in the ERP system to reflect actual delivery dates and Ensure scheduling system accuracy.

  • Track international shipments using CHR Navisphere system or other freight company software.

  • Attend value stream meetings and weekly sync (planning session) to report on purchased part statuses affecting customer orders.

  • Participate in Gemba walk and safety meetings as requested.

  • Escalate part-related issues to buyers or Purchasing director for assistance in resolution.

  • Identify solutions to vendor errors, budget limitations, and other supply chain problems as they arise.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, & Excel.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to solve problems effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for successful collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Comprehensive understanding of materials procurement processes.

  • Ability to walk through the plant and to the loading dock multiple times per day and the ability to lift up to 40LBS

  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in logistics and supply chain management preferred.
